The Power of the Tongue

”So shall my word be that goes forth from my out; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”  ~ Isaiah 55:11 Do you realize how much power your words have?  Your words have power!  They influence your actions and your thinking. As you say things to yourself and others, you start to see those things coming true – the good AND the bad.  As you start to see those things coming true, you begin to believe more in what you have said, and … Continue reading The Power of the Tongue

Grief

Loss is never easy. It becomes much more difficult when there is no rationale or logic that can be applied, when it was sudden or unexpected, and when it involves loved ones. Everyone approaches loss and death differently.  Some tackle the feelings head on, while others work through their pain and grief, or push it aside because they don’t know how to handle the onslaught of emotions, heartache, and heartbreak Some will offer words of comfort, and say it gets better with time.  Others will say that faith will help ease the pain. On this day, and in this moment, … Continue reading Grief

Sometimes You Have to be Like Nike and Just Do It!

Sometimes you have to “Just Do it”. Action is a daunting idea when it comes to stepping out of your comfort zone, engaging your passion, vision, and destiny.  We allow fear to paralyze us and keep us from moving, and justify it by saying “I’m just going to wait on the [right moment, Divine Providence, Lord, the Universe, perfect plan…]”.  The problem is that we do nothing in the meantime and we have just given up our ownership of the process! Excuses or Moves?

Stop making excuses for why you can’t or won’t. If you are serious about making a difference in your life, then you have to change your mindset and focus on “how”: 1) what are you trying to do? 2) what does success look like? He never thought their personal ambitions would supersede their loyalty and, gasp, love for the great Caesar. His wife begged him to stay home with her, and he refused. What can we learn from this? Real simple – 1) the backfield is ALWAYS in motion, sometimes for your … Continue reading Beware the Ides of March

Some broken things can’t & shouldn’t be fixed

Sometimes good things break to make room for something better… Sometimes what’s broken can’t be fixed, and maybe that’s for the best. I broke my favorite phone charm and was reminded of these two things while I worked feverishly to fix it. I recalled how I managed to put it back together, albeit haphazardly in the past only for it to fall out off my phone and break again…and again ..and again… Maybe there is a reason for that…maybe the universe was trying to tell me something that I refused to hear, so it decided to show me instead . … Continue reading Some broken things can’t & shouldn’t be fixed
